Bucketful of Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today the Elizabeth Craft Designs Design Team are doing another Focus on New Release blog post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. This time around we are focusing on Susan's Garden who has just released 14 brand new dies..... 10 new flower dies and 4 nested shapes dies.  Susan's Tierney-Cockburn designs flower dies that are realistic, just like those we find in nature.

For my card today I have used the new Garden Notes - Shasta Daisy; Garden Notes - Forget-Me-Not (Myosotis); Garden Notes - Frosty Fern and Garden Notes Galvanised Bucket.

I layered the bucket and flowers onto ModaScrap Patterned Papers which were die cut using the Dashing Rectangles die set, before adding to a side folding card.

To finish off the card I added the word "Hello" from the Words Set 2 - Thinking of You die set.

For the inside of the card I added a greeting using dies from the Word Set 2 - Thinking of You die set and added another of the Forget-Me-Not flowers.

Don't forget to visit the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see what the other Design Team have created using the Susan's Garden new release dies.

Hugs Hexagon Easel Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Easel Card I created using the new Hexagon dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I used the largest hexagon from the Fitted Hexagon die set to create the Easel Card base. The second largest hexagon from the Stitched Hexagons was used to create the layers of this card.

To create the background on both layers I sponged on Spiced Marmalade; Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks and then spritzed with water using a Distress Sprayer.

Along the bottom of the main panel I added "sand" by die cutting the border die included in the Adventure Edges die set from white cardstock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front. I then covered the adhesive with Sand Dunes Silk Microfine Glitter which is available in the new Beach Glitter Palette set.

To decorate my card I used the cacti and gecko from the Cacti Clear Stamp set.

To hold the Easel Card Up I die cut the letters "H U G S" five times from black card stock and once with white cardstock. I colored the white letters using three colors of green markers to match the cacti  in the card. I then added spikes to the letters so they would resemble cacti. Layer the letters on top of each other and adhere to the base of the card.

I also added another cactus to the card base.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

And a look at the inside of the base of the card.

Hip Hip Hooray Easel Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an Easel card that I created recently. For this card I used my new Swirl Easel Card die set from Crafter's Companion.

To decorate my card I used a stamp set from Uniquely Creative. I stamped the flower onto watercolor paper and then watercolored the flower using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment at the bottom of the card is from the Altenew Birthday Builder Clear Stamp set and the sentiment at the top of the card is one from Beccy's Place.

I added Nuvo Drops to the swirls on the top part of the Easel.

Mum ... So Lucky To Have You

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card using a couple more of the new die sets which are being released by Karen Burniston in June. As you can see I have made a Mother's Day card. I know Mother's Day was last week, I actually did make this prior to Mother's Day but I had other cards I needed to share first ... by changing the sentiments on the card this could easily be used for a birthday card for mum too.

For my card I used the new Upsy Daisy Pop-up Card die set to create the pop-up element of the card. The two end squares are attached to the pop-up mechanism and the middle square is joined to the others using twine.

I added the word "Mum" to the square panels, die cutting the letters using the new Alphabet die set from white cardstock that has adhesive on the front and then covered using Peony Pink Silk Microfine Glitter.

To decorate the top and bottom edges of the card I stamped the large floral arrangement from the Altenew Dearest Friend Clear Stamp set. The sentiment on the base of the card also comes from this set.

Here is a quick video showing my card in action.

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the pop-up mechanism a little better.

I also took an overhead view of my card to give you a better look at the pop-up mechanism again.

For the front of my card I used the same flower arrangement that I used on the inside of my card. This time  around I die cut the flowers using the new Oval die set.

I wanted something other than just plain pale pink cardstock for the base of the card, so sponged some ink through a Simon Says Stamp Square Dance Stencil using Catherine Pooler It's a Boy ink.

For the Mother's Day sentiment I combined sentiments from two different stamp sets.

To finish off the card I added some pink Nuvo Drops to the berries in the flower arrangement and some clear crystals randomly around the card.

Pizza My Heart

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Amy Ottmers our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it's time for a sketch challenge.

For my card today I pulled out my Concord and 9th Plaid Background stamp set to create the background red plaid background panels. Stamping the main plaid stamp using Catherine Pooler Rocking Red ink and then the line stamp in black.

I die cut two slices of pizza using Spellbinders Party Food die set, I love pepperoni pizza!

I stamped part of the sentiment using a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart Clear Stamp set.

As you can see I have created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I again created the background panels using the Concord & 9th Plaid Background stamp set.

To decorate my card I used sentiments and images from the Lawn Fawn Pizza My Heart Clear Stamp set.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the pop-up piece of the card a little better.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Impossible Happy Mother's Day Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Anne Harmon our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Pack Rat Day. This is the day you’ve dreaded.  My challenge to you is to use paper you have hoarded.
For my card today I decided to create another impossible card which have become very popular on social media lately. Actually this was kind of the first one I made, but after I few mistakes I almost scrapped it to do the one I posted on my blog last Friday, but after I had finished the other I figured I could rescue this one.

I had planned to use some patterned paper from a 6 x 6 pad I got with a Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. It had some pretty floral papers in the pack but there was only one sheet of each paper so limited to what I could use it for as I normally need some for the front of the card and back. My first mistake was not reading the instructions properly and cutting the papers opposite of each other when the patterned papers are both cut exactly the same as one goes on the front and one goes on the back.
To correct my mistake I ended up using a sheet of pink gingham patterned paper also included in the paper pad.

To decorate the card I pulled out my Concord and 9th Banners & Blooms Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies which has been sitting on my desk waiting to be used.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Karen Burniston/Brutus Monroe Collaboration Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends,

This week the Karen Burniston Design Team is collaborating with Brutus Monroe, they have lots of fun products which work well with Karen's die sets. Today the Karen Burniston Design Team is holding a blog hop showcasing products from both companies.

The hop started on the Karen Burniston blog, so if  you just happened to hop onto my blog you may want to head over there now so you can start at the beginning of the hop. You do want to miss anything and there is lots to see!

Karen Burniston and each of the Karen Burniston Design Team members will be offering a prize to some lucky person who comments on our blog posts, so make sure you join the hop and comment on everyone's blog post. The prize for my blog will be the Upsy Daisy Pop-up die set. You have until midnight EST 24th May to leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win the prize. (Note because this die won't be released until the first week of June, your prize will not be posted until then).

For my card today I have used Karen Burniston's new Upsy Daisy Pop-up die set to create the pop-up element of the card. This is one of the 12 new die sets which will be released in June. The two end squares are attached to the pop-up mechanism and the middle square is joined to the others using twine.

Along the bottom edge of the card I added the waves from the Tropical Scenes die set die cutting the waves from white cardstock that had adhesive tape on the front. I carefully trimmed off the release paper from the adhesive along the top wave part of the die cut above the stitching line. I then covered the adhesive with clear glitter and then I removed the remaining protective backing and covered with blue glitter.

I then stamped and cut out the boy and girl in the sailboat from Brutus Monroe's True Love Sailing Clear Stamp set and adhered to the lower right hand side of the card on the waves.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

Along the top edge of my card I added clouds using the scallop cloud border from the Nature Edges die set.

I stamped the sentiment which is included in the stamp set to black cardstock using white embossing powder and added it to the top left hand corner of my card.

To decorate my square panels that pop-up I added words from the new Words 6 - Summer die set.

Here is an overhead photo of my card so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.

I kept the front of my card simple seeing the focus is on the inside of the card. I stencilled a background on the card base.

I used Karen Burniston's Happy Birthday die which I die cut and then covered in the same blue glitter I used on the inside of the card. To layer the sentiments I used Karen Burniston's new Rectangles die set, these dies have a fun design on every second die in the set.

Well that is about it from me today, thank you for dropping by. To continue on the blog hop, click on the next person on the list which is Helen Cryer.

Here is the complete blog hop list if you need it.

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing

The winners will be announced on Friday, May 18th on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog and our Facebook page.

In case you haven't heard the news from last month, Elizabeth Craft Designs released brand new glitter colors in 3 new Glitter Pallettes! Each Glitter Palette includes five, 1/2 oz jars of file new ECD Exclusive Colors. Earth- Copper Bronze, Moonbeam, Rich Red, Ice Teal and Vintage Teal; Beach- Pebble Blue, Silver Sand, Sand Dunes, Ocean Blue and Midnight Blue; Bloom- Rose Red, Petal Pink, Lilac, Periwinkle and Crystal Clear.

For my card today I have used four of the new glitter colors from the Beach Silk Microfine Glitter Pack, blue is my favorite color and I love the blues included in this set.

I also wanted to play with the new Fitted Hexagon dies that were released last week. I used the second smallest hexagon die and die cut it 12 times from White Soft Finish Cardstock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front. I then covered 3 hexagons with one of the 4 glitter colors I used for this card.

I die cut a rectangle from White Soft Finish Cardstock using the second largest rectangle from the Dashing Rectangles die set. I watered down some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and splattered that over the white rectangle.

Next I adhered the 7 of the hexagons to the left side of the rectangle.

For the sentiment I die cut the A Way With Words - Congrats three times from black cardstock and once from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Layer the three black ones on top of each other and then adhere the white sentiment so it is slightly offset.

To finish the card I added a few blue crystals and sequins randomly around the card.

For the inside of my card, I adhere 4 glittered hexagons to the left side of my card. I stamped the sentiment from the A Way With Words - Happy Birthday Collection Clear Stamp set to the right side of the card using black ink.

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Don't forget to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see all the wonderful creations by our talented designers and for a change to win the giveaway.

Enjoy Books

Hi Crafty Friends,

This week the Karen Burniston Design Team is collaborating with Brutus Monroe, they have lots of fun products which work well with Karen's die sets.

Karen Burniston will be releasing 12 new die sets which will be available to purchase in June. You can see a sneak peek of the new dies being released here.

Today I am sharing my second card using stamps from Brutus Monroe and one of Karen Burniston's new die sets. This time around I have used the Circle Charm Pop-up die set to create my card.

The Brutus Monroe Library Background is another stamp I have had on my wish list for some time now, so when this opportunity came I just had to add it to my list.

To create my card I started with an A2 sized card and then used my MISTI to stamp this background stamp on the front and also onto both sides of the inside of the card. The image looks a little daunting to color, but it was really easy to color and didn't take much time at all. Some I colored while watching tv.

I used Karen Burniston's new Circle Charm Pop-up die set to create the pop up portion of the card. The star in the centre circle is attached to the circle using fishing wire and is covered with gold  glitter.

The "Enjoy" sentiment is from the new Word Set 6 - Summer die set also being released this week. For the "Books" sentiment I created this by using parts of various words from both the Word Set 2 and Word Set 4 die sets.

To finish off the card I white embossed on black cardstock, sentiments from Brutus Monroe's Love Sailing and When I Grow Up - Astronaut stamp set. I thought all of these sentiments from these sets worked well to describe what books can do.

Here is an overhead photo of my card so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.
